Who is the Rampant Coyote? Jay Barnson has been playing video games since Pac-Man and Wizardry were hot stuff, and has been creating both indie games and top-shelf "AAA" retail games for over a decade. He's also been involved in the D20 "Pen and Paper" role-playing game (RPG) industry. He has neither confirmed nor denied his involvement in the Single-Sock Eating Clothes Dryer Conspiracy.

Gamer Gone Fishing
Well, actually, I'm back now. I spent much of the Memorial Day weekend down in Cedar City, and got to spend Memorial Day itself (well, the first half of it) fishing at Navajo Lake. I caught two trout personally - and you shoulda seen the one that got away! Actually, as far as I know, I caught the one that got away - it grabbed my bait immediately after my cast, before it had had time to settle. Fun stuff. I haven't been fishing in years, so it was a great time.

Of course, fresh trout was for dinner. Yum!

See, even we gamer-types can get out and get some fresh air and enjoy the great outdoors once in a while. And I didn't die of exposure to that big yellow ball of light in the sky (I think legends refer to it as the DAY-STAR or something).

I also went fishing for part of the weekend. I caught a few bullheads, but I held the net when someone else caught the one-that-got-away from the day before. It was a monster of a catfish! I think it had to be about five or six pounds.

I also had fun on a jet ski...although I was pretty scared to go on it. It wasn't like Waverace 64 at all. Video games have lied to me. B-)

You know, I love to go fishing even though I have never actually caught anything. Apparently, I'm the worst fisherman ever.

Of course, we've also never gotten around to trying fishing here in Washington state. I wonder if I'd do better on home turf...

We caught a total of four fish, all 14 or 15 inches long. Enough to feed everyone. And we had a good time, though it was awfully chilly up in the mountains this weekend. We used nightcrawlers + garlic marshmallows for bait.

I have never been jet skiing, Gianfranco, so I think you win :) Yeah, I've played Waverace 64, but if my l33t moves won't carry over into real life... what a rip-off! :)
